What this service covers

Server room cleaning is for the technical spaces inside a larger building: a dedicated server room, a network or telecom closet, a small data room behind a secured door. These rooms rarely get cleaned by the general janitorial contract because the crew is not allowed in, and when they are, the wrong equipment is used. We take on just that room, with a written scope agreed with whoever owns it.

The scope normally includes the floor (solid or raised), the exterior of racks and cabinets, cable-management surfaces at reachable height, door frames, ledges, and any desk or bench inside the room. Dust is captured with HEPA-filtered vacuums and low-lint cloths rather than pushed around with brooms or feather dusters.

Network closets and smaller technical rooms

A network or telecom closet can have as much equipment density as a server room in a fraction of the floor area. Circulation space, cable arrangements and the floor finish decide what can be cleaned and from where, so these rooms are scoped individually rather than priced as a smaller version of the main room.

What we do not do

We do not open cabinets, touch patch panels, unplug or move anything that is powered, or clean inside equipment. We do not use wet methods near live power or on raised floors without your sign-off. If your room has a pre-action sprinkler system or a clean-agent suppression system, we work under whatever precautions your facilities team sets for it.

Access and coordination

Every visit starts with your access process: who signs the crew in, who stays with them, and which hours are acceptable. Most server rooms are cleaned outside business hours or during a low-activity window so nobody is working around people at the consoles. Keys, badges and escort requirements are agreed before the first visit and stay with the facility, not with us.

Products and equipment

We use the products and tools your site approves. Where a site has its own standards for cleaning agents, anti-static considerations or vacuum filtration, those govern. Where it does not, we propose a method statement and you approve it before work starts.

What the room needs

The cleaning checklist scales down to a single room; most of the zones apply, and it is a useful way to agree the scope with whoever owns the space.

What shapes the price

Room size matters less than equipment density, floor type, how the room is accessed and when. A recurring visit to one room is priced per visit; several rooms across a building are priced as a route. The cost guide covers the factors in more detail.

Scheduling

A single room is usually a few hours. Recurring visits can be monthly, quarterly or tied to events such as a hardware refresh. If your room sits inside a larger facility with halls and plenums, data center maintenance cleaning is the broader program; this page is the smaller, room-by-room version of it.

To get a proposal, send us the room details or call. We will ask about size, floor type, access hours and what the room contains, and nothing about your network.

Questions facilities teams ask

Can our regular janitorial crew just clean the server room?

Often they are not allowed in, and if they are, standard brooms, dusters and mop buckets are the wrong tools near electronics. Our crews use HEPA vacuums and dry or barely damp low-lint methods and work to a written scope.

Will you need to power anything down?

No. We do not touch, move or switch off any equipment. If your own team wants a maintenance window for other reasons, we can work inside it.

Do you clean inside the racks?

No. Interior cleaning of racks and equipment is excluded. We clean exteriors, doors, tops and the surfaces around them.
